Love's Frame of Mind .....

Jennifer sat looking out the window, her heart feeling the pain of one more breakup.  She sat down on her new white leather couch after pouring herself a glass of red wine.  She reviewed the coffee table in front of her.  Everything was in its place. There was one white burning candle and a small notepad and pencil.

More than anything, Jennifer wanted to know, what she was doing wrong?  Why couldn’t she keep a man?  She had hoped for a husband, and when that didn't happen after 10 years of searching, dating services, online dating, church dating, social club dating, and even purchasing a date for her high school reunion, she was ready to give up.  She had read book after book about being the “right” person, so that she could “find the right” person.  But there had been no lasting results.

It was time to give this problem to someone greater than herself.  It was time to go within herself and find the inner connection to the universe.

Jennifer had heard more than once that prayer was when you talked to the Universe, and meditation was when you listened to the Universe.  She wanted to talk to the Universe first, and then she would sit with her wine and listen to what the Universe had to say.   She had placed a towel on the arm of the couch, just in case she decided to take a little nap.

Jennifer believed deep within herself that the Universe would show her the way.  She had faith that the Universe would answer her prayers.

Then that little voice made itself heard, “Who are you praying to?"   Jennifer was ready for that little voice this time.  Her mental answer came so quickly that she surprised herself.  “I am praying to the entity which created the moon, the stars, and the universe. You can call it what you want.”

She relaxed, and for the first time she felt she had made a serious breakthrough.  There was no doubt in her mind that something greater than herself, could and would help her with her problem of feeling and being alone.

So here she was, alone and deeply concerned about her future.  She wanted children, but it would be too late in another five to seven years.  She felt that she had to do something NOW.  And prayer was the sensible choice.

Jennifer was a professional woman and earned more than enough for artificial insemination, or even to adopt a child.  She had reviewed websites for information on international adoptions, and much to her surprise, it appeared that it would be easy to adopt a child from a third world country.  But that wasn't enough; she wanted a man, a spouse, a husband, a friend, someone to grow old with.

After reviewing her notes on “how to pray”, Jennifer prayed her prayer.  She then sat there silently waiting for an answer.  Afternoon turned into early evening, and Jennifer still sat there, looking out of the living room window, wondering if the Universe had heard her prayers.  Finally, she laid her head on the arm of the couch and fell asleep.

It was around 12:30 AM when Jennifer woke.  At first she didn’t remember why she was lying on her brand-new leather couch, but the reasons came back to her, as did the pain of her most recent breakup.

She looked at the candle and said out loud, “Well, God, what’s your answer?”  The room was totally silent.  Jennifer saw the remote control on the floor.  She picked it up and turned on the TV.

An old movie was playing.  The movie revolved around a young woman who had tried to take her life and the life of her fiancé because he ended the engagement just before the wedding.

In the movie, a therapist helped the young woman to realize that her fiancé had ended the engagement because she had put too much pressure on him to be her “everything.”  He just couldn’t live up to the expectations which she had placed on him.

Jennifer quickly realized that for most people, the movie was about the attorney and the courtroom drama, but for her, the movie was about WHY the finance’ ended the engagement

It was around 7:00 AM when Jennifer awoke again.  The alarm clock in the bedroom was playing soft jazz music.  She just lay there, staring at the ceiling.  Jennifer started to think about what she wanted to do next.  She understood that the late-night movie had been a message in disguise.

After Jennifer took a morning bath, she made herself a cup of coffee and sat down at the kitchen table to ponder.

She remembered the question the therapist had asked the young woman in the movie the night before, “If you had a million dollars, what would you do?”

Jennifer thought about this question for about 30 minutes before she decided to make some changes in her life.  Finding a hobby and perhaps even a job that made her happy was officially placed on her personal agenda.  She was doing very well in her present profession, but she wasn’t happy.

She wasn't excited about getting up for work, and she had nothing to look forward to after work.  The only thing in her life that she was excited about was her relationship.

It was at that moment that she was able to sneak a peek at how the Universe works.

The Universe gives you what you need.  The moment you learn from your present circumstances is the moment your life changes.

Jennifer knew there would be times when she would fell alone. Yet, she also knew, she could make her life work. If there was no husband by the time she reached a certain age, she could always adopt a child from a third world country.  She could open her mind to marriage, outside US boarders.  There were people all over the world looking for love.  There are options  ..........http://touchandgodating.com
